A Moment (Moments, #1) by Marie Hall

A Moment (Moments, #1)A Moment by Marie Hall
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ryan is a local fighter, an ex Marine with a secret so dark it haunts him almost nightly. Especially on Valentines Day, that is the one day of the year he goes out and drinks and drinks, hoping to drown away the pain. He is so broken, he thinks he is beyond repair.

Lili, a single mother and collage student, has had a hard life. Her mother is dying, her son, 7 is autistic and she feels that she doesn't love her. She's trying her best to take care of both of them while working and going to school. She doesn't really get time for herself, doesn't make time for herself.

Ryan thinks he can't be fixed, Lili hopes to be the one to fix him. But the fear of last Valentines Days is always there in the back of her mind, is he  too broken for her to try.

While I enjoyed reading A Moment, somethings felt like they were missing. Just a few things I would have liked to see addressed. They weren't major story altering things but little touches that could have added to the story.

Over all though a great great book. Raw and heartbreaking dealing with many issues that affect so many people. Issues that some people can never peace with, find that someone to trust to lift that burden from their shoulders. But intermixed with all of that there are many sweet times, times to make you smile.
